OUR ONLINE S.O.R.A. CLASSES
Instructions & Class Requirements

Student Note: Because of the inherent complexities involved in the logisitcs of providing Online S.O.R.A. Classes, and LADD’s obligations to adhere to N.J. State Law as well as NJSP Policies & Regulations regarding the delivery of these type of courses, LADD has instituted these Class Rules and Requirements in order to comply with those rules as well as ensuring that Students receive fair and equitable treatment while complying with these rules. Please note that the Staff and Management of LADD SEcurity Management Consultants, Inc. are bound to comply and enforce these rules and regulations as a condition of employment, therefore no LADD employee has the authority to circumvent the rules, nor exempt any Student from complying with same.

= YOU MUST COMPLY WITH ALL OF THE PRE-CLASS REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO THE START DATE OF YOUR CLASS =

ONLINE CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

  • You MUST FIRST SUBMIT AN ONLINE APPLICATION to the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) for either a NEW SORA LICENSE or to RENEW your current SORA License PROIR to registering for any LADD SORA class. Click Here for the NJSP SORA Help page.
  • After successfully submitting your Online SORA Application, the NJSP will issue you a 6-Digit APPLICANT ID NUMBER…This number MUST be submitted with your Class Registration. If you DO NOT submit this number, you will not be able to take this class!
  • After you successfully register for the Class, you will be contacted by LADD to confirm your attendance and will be provided with the link to log onto the Class meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, Adobe Meet, etc). You are responsible for making sure that you have a compatible computer, laptop, or tablet and that you have adequate online access to the Internet in order to participate in the course. This course is NOT COMPATIBLE with cell phones.

    You must LOG INTO the class at least 10 MINUTES PRIOR to the starting time of the class so you can be verified and admitted. ONCE THE CLASS HAS STARTED, IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO PROCESS ANY STUDENT WHO SIGNS IN LATE!! If you log in late you may not be admitted to the class and will be marked as a NO-SHOW and you will not be eligible for a refund!
  • When logging onto the Online Class platform, please ensure that your CORRECT & COMPLETE NAME APPEARS IN YOUR CAMERA WINDOW.

  • You must stay LOGGED ON during the entire class session. You must also keep your camera on (live) and REMAIN VISIBLE ON THE CAMERA DURING THE ENTIRE SESSION. If you turn your camera off, or are not visible on-camera, you may be removed from the class without refund. PLEASE NOTE that the NJSP monitors the class remotely, and will flag any Student who does not remain online…again we will be instructed to remove you from the class!!
  • There are NO REFUNDS for Students who are NO-SHOWS, who LEAVE THE CLASS BEFORE BEING DISMISSED or who are removed from the class by the Instructor. LADD must be notified at least 24-HOURS BEFORE the start of the class you registered for if you are unable to attend.
  • NO SLEEPING!! You must be awake and alert in the online class, the same as if you were in an In-Person Class. You CANNOT BE DRIVING A VEHICLE during the class session. This is both illegal and unsafe, and you will be removed from the class immediately without refund!!

    There will be several Breaks provided during the class session where you be able to temporairly turn your camera off, however YOU CANNOT SIGN OFF THE CLASS SESSION!! The Instructor will provide you with a time when you must return to the class, and you must back in front of your camera and have it turned on by that time. The class session will have a chat feature where you will be able to chat directly with the Instructor if you need to step away from the camera for a personal matter. Again, if you FAIL to RETURN online at the required time or leave the camera for any unauthorized reason, your online class session will be terminated without refund.

    Online Class Students are REQUIRED to take and pass, a 50 Question Online Exam/Quiz as part of this online course. Students are required to get a minimum passing score of 70% in order to be certified, and this Exam/Quiz must be COMPLETED within the TWO (2) CALENDAR DAYS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF THE CLASS. You will be provided with Three (3) Opportunities to pass the Exam/Quiz. If you FAIL to TAKE THE EXAM/QUIZ within the required time frame, or you fail to pass the Exam/Quiz, we will not be able to certify your training results. In this case, you may have to repeat the course…..if this occurs, contact us by telephone for any additional options that are available to you.
