a security officer unless that person is registered with the Superintendent as required in this section.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW S.O.R.A. APPLICANTS

  1. You must FIRST go ONLINE to the New Jersey State Police SORA website at: https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do
  2. Create an online account with the NJSP and file an application for NEW SORA CERTIFICATION (either Armed or Unarmed)
  3. After creating your online account, complete your online application and pay the $75.00 application fee to the NJSP. You will then receive your APPLICANT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. This SIX-DIGIT NUMBER is the key to processing your SORA application.
  4. You MUST provide this number to us in order to process your training result and photograph. WE CANNOT PROCESS YOUR TRAINING WITHOUT THIS NUMBER!
  5. After submitting your online application, you must then schedule to be fingerprinted by IdentoGo (a separate $68.98 fee applies). You must schedule your fingerprint appointment directly from SORA account & follow the instructions to make your appointment.
  6. The fee for the training class is SEPERATE AND IN ADDITION to the other fees you must pay in the licensing process. The LADD 24-HOUR SORA class fee is currently $98.00.
  7. You must attend the total required hours of the class (24 Hours of classroom).
  8. You must pass a 50 question written exam with a minimum score of 70%.
  9. You MUST have your photograph taken by the Instructor during the class.
