In accordance with New Jersey Law N.J.S.A. 45:19A-4a:

“NO person shall be employed as, or perform the functions and activities of,
a security officer unless that person is registered with the Superintendent as required in this section.
Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a crime of the Fourth Degree..”

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW S.O.R.A. APPLICANTS

  1. You must FIRST go ONLINE to the New Jersey State Police SORA website at: https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do
  2. Create an online account with the NJSP and file an application for NEW SORA CERTIFICATION (either Armed or Unarmed)
  3. After creating your online account and paying the $75.00 application fee to the NJSP, you will receive your APPLICANT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. This is a SIX-DIGIT NUMBER provided by the NJSP and is the key to processing your SORA application.
  4. You MUST provide this number to us in order to process your training result and photograph. WE CANNOT PROCESS YOUR TRAINING WITHOUT THIS NUMBER!
  5. After you have successfully filed your application with the NJSP, you must then schedule to be fingerprinted by IdentoGo (a separate $68.98 fee applies). You can schedule your fingerprint appointment directly after completing your SORA application. If you fail to use the NJSP site to schedule your fingerprints, you will be required to go directly to the IdentoGo website at: https://uenroll.identogo.com/
    • You will need ONE of the following SERVICE CODES:
      • For UNARMED Security Officer Applications, use: 2F1HBS
      • For ARMED Security Officer Applications, use: 2F11HN
  6. The fee to take the training class is NOT INLCUDED and is a separate fee, payable to LADD ($98.00).
  7. You must attend the total required hours of the class.
  8. You must pass a 50 question written exam with a minimum score of 70%.
  9. You MUST have your photograph taken by the Instructor during the class.
