LADD’s Security Officer INITIAL Certification Course is the course required to be completed by all candidates who wish to become certified Security Officers in the State of New Jersey. The course is a 24-Hour in-person training course which is delivered over a two or three day period in a classroom environment. In order to successfully complete this course, the student must; 1) attend the required number of classroom hours for the course, 2) pass a written test with a minimum score of 70%, 3) have an ID photograph taken by the instructor, and 4) submitted to fingerprinting by the NJSP.   • Document & ID Fraud

  • Documenting Incidents & Report Writing
  • Dealing with Missing Persons
  • Fire Safety & Hazmat Awareness
  • Homeland Security
  • Bombs & Bomb Threat Awareness

*All topics covered are in compliance with subject matter as required by the New Jersey State Police and the NJ SORA law.

PLEASE NOTE: Before registering for this course, the student must FIRST have submitted an online INITIAL application with the New Jersey State Police and met other criteria as specified under the SORA law. You are required to submit to us, the 6-DIGIT APPLICANT ID NUMBER that will be issued to you by the NJSP after you file your application with the NJSP.
