There are three steps:
  1. Submit an application to the New Jersey Stat Police
  2. Get fingerprinted.
  3. Successfully attend a 24-Hour Initial SORA class.

Renewing your current SORA is easy:
  1. Submit a RENEWAL application to the New Jersey State Police
  2. Successfully attend an 8-Hour RENEWAL Course (In-Person or Online*)

Rules for attending an ONLINE class are almost identical to those pertaining to an IN-PERSON class. In addition, YOU are responsible for submitting a proper passport style photograph of yourself to be used on your ID card.  This must be sent to us by email.

  • YES, you are able to sign up to take the IN-PERSON Complete First Aid Course, which includes both CPR & AED certification.
  • The class follows the end of the regular SORA class.
  • When signing up for your class, choose the "Plan "B" option, which will cost you an additional $60 (Save $9 by bundling both classes together!)
  • After successfully taking the Plan "B" part, you will be certified in FA/CPR/AED for two years
